‘Balan: The Boy’ box office collections day 4: ‘Chidambaram’ sees sharp decline on Monday; The global total stands at Rs 17.53 lakh crore
Chidambaram’s ‘Balan: The Boy’ entered the first day of the week at the box office after generating good numbers during its opening weekend. However, like many recent releases, the film saw a significant drop in collections on Monday as weekday trends began to take hold.
Day 4 collections are down 60.3 percent
According to Sakneelak, ‘Balan: The Boy’ has collected a net collection of Rs 1.15 crore in India on the fourth day. The latest figure represents a 60.3 percent drop from Sunday’s net collection of Rs 2.90 lakh crore. The film was shown in 1,143 shows on Monday.The Malayalam version collected Rs 1.12 crore and recorded an occupancy rate of 27 percent. The Tamil version contributed Rs 1 lakh at 10 percent occupancy, while the Telugu version added Rs 2 lakh at 17 percent occupancy.
Occupancy remains strongest during evening shows
The film recorded an overall Malayalam occupancy of 24.17 percent on Monday. Morning shows recorded an occupancy rate of 9.67 percent. Afternoon showings improved to 20.58 percent. The percentage of evening shows increased to 25.17%, while night shows recorded the highest attendance during the day at 32.58%.With the completion of four days, ‘Balan: The Boy’ has collected Rs 8.22 crore in net Hindi collections. The film’s total collection in India now stands at Rs 9.53 crore.
International markets played a major role in the film’s overall performance. On the fourth day, the film collected Rs 70 lakh overseas.This takes its total overseas collection to Rs 8.00 crore. The total global collection has now reached Rs 17.53 lakh crore.Kerala remained the film’s largest market on the fourth day, contributing a total of Rs 1.10 crore. Karnataka added Rs 12 lakh while Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 5 lakh.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana produced Rs 3 lakh, while the rest of India added Rs 2 lakh.ETimes gave the film three stars and noted, “Though the film has its share of tense moments, the emotions remain surprisingly muted. Especially in the climax, although the resolution is interesting, the lack of a stronger emotional build-up prevents it from reaching its full potential.
