Tina Ahuja, Govinda’s daughter, has revealed that her child star status ironically works against her in Bollywood, where casting directors avoid calling her for auditions assuming she won’t turn up. The actress, who is actively pursuing film and OTT projects, also spoke about her growing relationship with her mother Sunita Ahuja.
Govinda’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, spoke about the unexpected obstacles she faces in Bollywood, revealing that her star background has become a barrier to getting roles.
Despite her keenness to secure big films and OTT projects, Tina revealed that deep-rooted misconceptions in the industry prevent directors from calling her for routine auditions and look tests. Addressing the assumption that her lineage makes her unsociable, the actress clarified her stance on engaging with the industry independently.
Tina Ahuja looks for films and OTT projects
According to Mid Day, Tina, who is keen to take up substantive roles, revealed that she is currently looking for opportunities across film and OTT platforms.
In a conversation with Mid-day, she said, “I would love to be a part of some great OTT shows, some great projects, some great films. I would love to. A very good thing in OTT as well, I am really looking for some good acting projects. I am really open to it and kind of looking forward to it.”
Tina Ahuja says industry legend prevents her from taking audition calls
Despite her enthusiasm for the work, Tina noted that a deep-rooted misconception within the industry had quietly worked against her career.
She explained that people tend to assume that her association with Govinda will make her unwilling to go through the standard process of auditions and appearance tests. “I just hope people don’t have fear of Govinda coming to the sets.” He’s the coolest guy.
I don’t know why these people have a myth that I am Govinda’s daughter, that’s why they hardly call me for auditions and appearance tests. They think because I’m his daughter, I won’t come.
But this is not true. I want to do good roles. “Because of this myth, I don’t receive offers or invitations to audition for good roles,” she said.
Tina Ahuja says she is open to appearing on ‘Laughter Chefs’
Tina was also asked about the possibility of appearing on the popular reality show Laughter Chefs. Without giving a specific answer, she expressed that she would welcome the opportunity if the makers of the show approached her with something suitable. “I don’t want to say.
It all depends on the producers of Laughter Chefs. If they have a special appearance or a special role written for me, I would be very happy to be a part of it.
Imagine it would be like Team Ahuja vs. I don’t know what it’s all about. “If the producers have some interesting special clips for us or something like that, we will be more than happy to be a part of it,” she said.
Tina Ahuja talks about her growing relationship with her mother Sunita Ahuja
Tina also spoke about how her relationship with her mother, Sunita Ahuja, grew and deepened after they appeared together on the show ‘Maa Hai Na’.
She admitted that her constant moving over the past two years kept her away from home, which made her realize how little time she devoted to her mother. “Over the past two years, I’ve been traveling a lot. I’ve been traveling a lot. I’ve almost never been home.”
Somewhere I was very affected by this too because Yash is very close to my mother and I am very close to my father. So I didn’t realize that I wasn’t actually spending time with my mom.
It was different. It’s a very soft, very gentle bond that I had with her. We don’t talk to each other that openly so I felt like at least through this show, I started to have a conversation with her a little more than I normally would.
Tina Ahuja calls her mother Coconut
Concluding her talk on a warm note, Tina summed up her mother’s personality with a charming analogy: “What I’ve realized is that my mother is like a coconut. She’s soft on the inside, but very hard on the outside. But that’s okay. We’re just taking our baby steps.”
