'I talked to her': Nurse tried to save woman in Brazil who was thrown 130 feet in a jump rope without a safety rope

A nurse who rushed to help Maria Eduarda Rodriguez de Freitas after she fell 130 feet from a bridge without a bungee cord said the 21-year-old was still alive when she reached her on the ground.“I saw that she was breathing hard, and I looked at her pupils, which unfortunately were dilated, and I felt her pulse. It was very weak, but she still had a pulse,” nurse Raisa Dias told Brazilian television network Domingo Espetacular on Sunday.Dias was pushed onto steep, muddy terrain, injuring her hands in the process. “I scraped my hand all over because there was such a steep slope up there and only one rope we could go down.

Everything was covered in mud. I kept going down. “We walked all the way,” she said.When I reached the victim, I spoke to her. “I have a habit of joking and saying, ‘No one dies on my shift.’ I told her, ‘Doda [Eduarda]No one dies on my shift. “Even though I wasn’t on my shift there,” Dias said.

Despite her efforts, Freitas, a 21-year-old physical education graduate, died from multiple injuries sustained in the fall at the Skeleton Bridge in Limeira, São Paulo state.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday morning, was captured on video. The footage shows Freitas being launched from the platform. Immediately after its release, people could be heard chanting “Guys, rope!” When they realized that the safety equipment was not connected.

Six people arrested for murder are under investigation

The case was referred to Limeira Police District 2 for investigation. Authorities are investigating who is responsible for securing safety equipment and whether proper protocols were followed.Authorities initially arrested six people in connection with the incident. Three of the workers were arrested and charged with murder over Freitas’ death. Two suspects reportedly tried to flee after the incident and were tracked down by a military helicopter.

Shortly before the jump, Freitas posted on her Instagram Stories in a joking tone: “Who is the crazy person that let me jump off the bridge?” Her profile was deleted hours after her death.The case was referred to Limeira Police District 2 for investigation.
