India replaces BLS and SGIVS for passport and visa services in UAE; India takes over operations from July 1

The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi has announced that a new third party service provider will handle passport, visa and consular services for Indian nationals and other applicants across the UAE with effect from July 1, 2026.According to the embassy, ​​India Tourism and Travel Company was selected to manage the services after a tendering and evaluation process.The existing service providers, BLS International Services Limited and SGIVS Global, will continue to accept and process applications until 30 June 2026. Applications submitted before the transfer date will continue to be processed through the existing centres.

Effective July 1, all applications for passports, visas and consular services will be accepted through designated centers run by India Travel & Tourism.The Embassy advised applicants to continue using BLS International and SGIVS Global service centers until the end of June and to follow official announcements regarding the transfer process.In its statement, the embassy urged members of the Indian community and other applicants to rely only on official websites and approved social media channels to obtain information related to passport, visas and consular services.The embassy said it is working with relevant authorities and service providers to ensure a smooth transition while maintaining efficient and accessible services across the UAE.
