Arjun Sarja’s action packed entertainer ‘Blast’ continued its impressive theatrical run on the 17th.According to Sakneelek, ‘Blast’ has collected a net collection of Rs 2.99 crore in India on day 17. This number represents a significant growth of 130 percent over the previous day’s collection of Rs 1.30 crore.
India collections are close to Rs 45 lakh crore net
The 17th day’s earnings came from 1,586 shows across the country. The film’s total net collection in India rose to Rs 44.73 crore.‘Blast’ has grossed Rs 51.43 crore in India. The film enjoyed a strong opening week, collecting Rs 25.78 crore. This was followed by Rs 14.66 crore during its second week.
Overseas performance pushes global total higher
‘Blast’ has grossed Rs 14.05 crore from international territories so far. The overseas contribution, along with domestic earnings, took the film’s worldwide gross to Rs 65.48 crore.The Tamil version of ‘Blast’ recorded an overall occupancy of 25.60 per cent on day 17. The morning shows recorded an occupancy of 15.08 per cent, while the afternoon occupancy improved to 23.85 per cent. Evening shows recorded an occupancy rate of 22 percent. Night shows emerged as the strongest part of the day with an occupancy rate of 34.15 percent.One of the main attractions of ‘Blast’ was the high-energy storytelling and repetitive action sequences with perfect climactic sequences.
ETimes praised the film’s handling of action and surprise elements in its review. We wrote, “The best thing about Blast is in the small details. For example, the film’s biggest action twist doesn’t come from Arjun or Preity. And I know who you’re thinking, it’s not from Abhirami either. Instead, the film brings the larger action to a fourth person entirely, which makes for an interesting setup. Starting with Preity’s stunning fight sequences, the film has an action block every five to ten minutes.”
