Since the petition was not considered immediately, she approached the Supreme Court seeking urgent intervention. Earlier, the Supreme Court directed the Family Welfare Court to hear the maintenance application and issue appropriate orders within two weeks.

Aarti Ravi opposes the extension request
Ravi Mohan later filed a fresh petition asking the Supreme Court to extend the time granted to the Family Welfare Court.
When the matter was brought up before Justice Abdul Quddus, senior advocate J. Raveendran, who represents Aarti Ravi, made the request strongly. He said there was no need to change the timetable already set by the court. After considering the requests submitted by both sides, the judge refused to grant any extension and rejected Ravi Mohan’s petition.
