Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s latest release ‘Peddi’ began its theatrical journey with a strong opening at the box office. The sports drama witnessed strong audience interaction on its first day.According to Sakniklik, the opening numbers indicate a huge jump in profits. According to figures from Sacnilk, ‘Peddi’ earned Rs 51.00 crore on the first day. The group reflected a growth of 175.7 per cent compared to the previous record of Rs 18.50 lakh crore.The film collected the amount across 12,412 shows on its opening day. The total gross collection in India stood at Rs 82.49 lakh crore. India’s net collection stood at Rs 69.50 crore.The overseas market also contributed strongly to the film’s opening run. The film grossed Rs 30.00 crore globally. This brings the total global collection to Rs 112.49 lakh crore.
The Telugu market is emerging as a major driving force
The Telugu version made the largest contribution to the overall collection numbers. It earned Rs 47.20 crore and remained the film’s strongest market. Tamil collections reached Rs 45 lakh while Malayalam contributed Rs 10 lakh.
The overall state report also reflects the dominance of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions. APTG region alone fetched Rs 48.00 crore. Karnataka added Rs 5.75 lakh crore to the total figures.Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 1.50 lakh crore, while Kerala recorded Rs 25 lakh. The other districts combined added Rs 5.16 lakh crore.
Occupancy remains constant throughout the day
The film “Peddi” also recorded encouraging occupancy numbers in theatres. The Telugu 2D version recorded an overall occupancy of 67.92 percent on the first day.Morning occupancy began at 59.54 percent. Numbers gradually increased during subsequent shows. The afternoon occupancy rate was 62.69 percent. The evening occupancy rate reached 72.77 percent, while the nightly show rate rose to 76.69 percent.The IMAX Telugu version recorded an overall occupancy of 24.44 percent. Meanwhile, the Indian 4DX format recorded an overall occupancy of 36.70 percent.
