Strange things alum Sadie Sink’s upcoming TV series will have fewer supernatural elements.
The actress will star in and produce a limited series based on Jeffrey Eugenides’ novel Marriage plot In FX. Will Arbery (succession(Adapted from the novel, by Hiro Murai)Atlanta, Widow’s Bay) is assigned to direct.
A24 and FX Productions are behind the series. It’s the second FX show Arbery has set up: He’s also writing and executive producing a family drama called Seven sistersStarring Elizabeth Olsen.

Marriage plot “Follows three recent college graduates caught up in an all-consuming love triangle as they reconcile their youthful romantic aspirations with looming adulthood and make life-altering choices about love and identity,” the pitch line reads. Eugenides’ novel was published in 2011 and entered a number of best-of lists that year.
Arbery and Murai will executive produce Marriage plot With Stephen Prinz and Rachel Jacobs of Borderless Pictures, Michael Costigan and Jason Bateman of Aggregate Films, and Eugenides, Sink, Carver Karaszewski and Claudia Shin of Chum Films. Yiyi Huang serves as producer.
Cineke, who played Max Mayfield in Netflix’s hit Stranger Things, will next appear in the film Spider-Man: A Brand New Dayscheduled to be released in theaters on July 31. Tony Award nominee (for John Proctor is the villain) is currently on stage in London in a production Romeo and Juliet With Noah Jupe.
The basin is represented by WME and Imprint. Arbery is repped by CAA, Entertainment 360 and Ziffren Brittenham. Murray is repped by UTA and Untitled Entertainment.
