The stunning first look for the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Along with announcing the long-awaited next episodes, the series’ creators revealed that Simon Pegg will be joining the cast as the voice of the Balrog. Based on JRR

Simon Pegg becomes the voice of the Balrog
“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” announced surprises and cast members during a panel discussion in Room H, including showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. The press release stated that more than 6,500 attendees participated in the show. Surprise appearances included four armored Nazgul, servants of Sauron and Nazgul ancestors from the Second Age.
Furthermore, Simon Pegg joins the cast as the voice of the Balrog, marking the first time the creature has spoken.
Many creatures are joining in the upcoming season, including Fell-beasts, Mumakil, Orgs, and Balrog.The official tagline for Season 3 reads: “Season 3 takes place at the height of the Elven-Sauron War, as the Dark Lord seeks to forge the One Ring that will give him the advantage he needs to win the war, bind all peoples to his will – and finally rule all of Middle-earth.”

The Rings of Power cast members include Charlie Vickers, Morfydd Clarke, Robert Aramayo, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Charles Edwards, Robert Strange, and Markella Cavenagh. Additional cast members joining for Season 3 include Jamie Campbell Bower, Eddie Marsan, Andrew Richardson, Zubin Varla, and Adam Young.The third season will premiere on November 11, 2026, with four episodes, along with the fifth and sixth episodes on November 18, 2026, and the final two episodes on November 25, 2026.
