US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he had to choose between concluding a deal with Iran or doing it “the other way,” which he said would not be “nice.”He added that he preferred to deal with Iran “in a gentle way.”“Now I have to decide: Do we sign a deal or do we do it… the other way? The other way is not nice,” Trump told the New York Post. The US President was then asked what this “other path” would achieve. He replied: “Certainty… it will be over. There will be no talk. There will be no delay. But I prefer to do it in a nice way… from a humanitarian point of view.”

The reporter then asked Trump if all of this could be accomplished through bombing alone.

In response, he said, “Yes, you don’t have to. We don’t need ground troops on the ground. We wiped out a lot of their army by just bombing. We didn’t put anyone on the ground. You don’t want to do that if you can avoid it. You’re too far away.”The Republican leader’s comments came on the day Iran struck the main international airport in Kuwait, targeting a key US ally, amid a ceasefire already under pressure. In response to US-Israeli strikes on Iran in late February that sparked conflict in the Middle East, the Islamic Republic has repeatedly targeted Washington’s allies across the region. The ceasefire between the United States and Iran has been in effect since April 8.The truce was announced a day after Trump wrote in a post on the Truth Social website that “an entire civilization will die tonight,” sparking controversy.
