Weather in Delhi: In view of unfavorable weather conditions, Delhi Airport along with airlines has issued a warning to passengers.

Delhi Airport on Thursday evening issued an advisory to passengers after rain and thunderstorms hit parts of Delhi-NCR, offering respite from the heat to residents.

“Due to the severe weather conditions and thunderstorms expected in Delhi, some flights may be affected at Delhi Airport. Our teams on the ground are working hard with all stakeholders to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for passengers. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Passengers may consider alternative mode of transport including Delhi Metro to reach the airport to avoid possible delays,” the airport said in its advisory.
Due to the unfavorable weather conditions, airlines like Spicejet and IndiGo have also issued warnings to passengers.

“The bad weather over #Delhi has impacted flight schedules. We are closely monitoring the weather and doing our best to get you where you want to be safely and smoothly. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” IndiGo posted on social media platform X.
“Due to inclement weather conditions in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and onward flights may be affected,” SpiceJet wrote, informing passengers of the flight delays.
Heavy rains and thunderstorms lashed Delhi and parts of the National Capital Region on Thursday, bringing much-needed relief from the intense heatwave conditions that have gripped the region over the past few days. Strong winds, lightning and rain led to a significant drop in temperatures, providing relief to residents suffering from high mercury levels.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier issued weather alerts for Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and adjoining areas, warning of possible occurrence of severe thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and isolated hailstorms at many places across the region.
