Swearing ceremony It was played on Sunday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

Immediately after taking oath, CM Vijay signed a set of orders to start fulfilling his campaign promises. These papers included allowing the provision of 200 units of free electricity to local consumers, establishing a special force for women’s safety and also anti-drug trafficking units throughout the state.

This was one of his biggest election promises. Free electricity is available to residents of many other states and union territories, e.g Delhi, Punjab and Bihar.

Women’s safety and drug control also ranked high in the priorities set by the TVK government. Vijay signing orders on the first day of speaking shows how quickly he wants them addressed.

What Vijay said in his first speech as Tamil Nadu CM

In his maiden speech at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai after taking over as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Vijay said that a new era of the regime committed to “true secularism and social justice” has begun.

He stressed that there would be no centers of power other than him, and stressed that he would be the only center of power.

He thanked the Congress, VCK, IUML and the Left parties for extending support to his party in forming the government.

He especially thanked the children and said that TVK’s victory was thanks to them, as they convinced their families to vote for his party.

TVK emerged as the largest single party in the assembly elections, winning 108 seats in the 234-member House of Representatives, when the results were announced on May 4. But almost immediately after the celebrations died down, mathematics became the main opponent. The majority mark was 118.

The Indian National Congress was the first major player to support TVK, offering five MLAs but with conditions attached. The Congress insisted that Vijay keep the “community forces” – short for the BJP-led NDA – out of the alliance.

Then came the Communist Party of India and the Communist Party of India (Marxist), each of which had two members of the Communist Party of India. Both parties said they support TVK to prevent President’s rule and stop what they called the BJP’s possible “back entry” into Tamil Nadu politics.

VCK and IUML formally submitted letters of support to TVK on Saturday. Vijay’s tally rose to 120 – two above the majority mark.
