Michael Montemayor, an up-and-coming screenwriter with a growing social media following, has signed with CAA.
The signing comes on the heels of the sale of Montemayor Court historya Netflix original presentation, released earlier in April. Berlanti/Schechter Films, the premium film company run by prolific television experts Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, is producing the film.
Montemayor is currently working on Disney’s live-action remake of the film tangledwhich is directed by Michael Gracey and is scheduled to go into production later this spring. Previously, he wrote Sistersa live-action reimagining of Cinderella It focused on her two half-brothers, which attracted Akiva Schaeffer as a director.
Montemayor began his career as a writer’s assistant to Dana Fox, the veteran romantic comedy writer who recently wrote evil Movies in action Cruella For Disney and Lost city For Paramount.
In addition to his film work, the writer produces social content that has garnered over 40 million views across platforms, with a voice focused on celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.
