Offset continues to speak out as he recovers from being shot outside a Florida casino earlier this month.
Rapper in an interview with Creators Company Podcast Which aired Thursday but was recorded less than a week after the April 6 shooting, which was connected to an intravenous drip, said he would keep “pushing” and spoke about why he wanted to quickly return to work after being released from the hospital.
“I’ve been lucky enough to be able to keep moving, you know what I mean? So I’m still moving,” Offset said on the show. “I’m pushing, man, at the end of the day. The grinding doesn’t stop, brother. I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me or anything like that. People get shot every day, brother. Like, I’m lucky. “I can keep pushing, so why just sit?”
The rapper, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, echoed those comments elsewhere in the chat, saying he’s “like an Energizer Bunny” and needs to “keep this shit up.”
“We have no time to slow down,” he added.
When asked about his mindset after being shot and continuing to work, Offset said: “The show never stops at the end of the day.”
As for his trip to Los Angeles for the podcast, Offset said he was sleeping in a bed on a private plane.
The musician also shared that he was working on a new album featuring songs inspired by “what’s going on in my real life.”
Offset was taken to the hospital with a “non-life-threatening injury” after being shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. on Creators Company PodcastOffset said he was “beaten up.” [his] side.”
A few days after the shooting, after Offset was released from the hospital, he thanked fans for their support and assured them that he was fine.
“Thank you to everyone who signed me up and showed me love,” he wrote in a statement shared on social media. “I’m good….but I plan to be better! I’m focused on my family, my recovery, and getting back to music…and I realize that life is made up of quiet wins and tough losses….life is a gamble and I’m still playing to win.”
