Fresh off her triumphant guest appearance at Coachella, the Queen of Pop is doing what she does best — grabbing attention — in a different crowd: the gay hookup app Grindr.
As one of “the few brand partners hand-picked by the OG Mother,” a press release announced that the icon is “taking over” the yellow app to bring “community into her world — just in time for Pride season.”
What that means for Grindr users right now is that their profile grid will always have one square dedicated to Madonna, reclining in a fuschia body chased by zebra stripes displayed above her.
Click on the box (which you can’t block) and you’ll get a message from Madonna herself:
“Hi Grindr. I’m Motha. I made an exclusive vinyl record of my new album just for you. I could have dropped it anywhere but I wanted to go where the action was the most exciting, so I hit the grid. Are you ready to Confessions II?
Grindr notes that it is “just getting started” with its artist acquisition process, which will extend to more performances on the app and in the brand’s social media sites.
Madonna’s Grindr activation is the latest in her rollout Confessions II. Her guest appearance with Carpenter at Coachella last week was a full-circle moment for the star, coming 20 years after she graced the festival in 2006 during her first appearance. recognitionExtras On the dance floor era. She even wore the same outfit from the original Coachella set last week, but it’s unfortunate that the outfit is now missing. Earlier this week, she posted online saying she would be offering a reward to anyone who could help find her.
Madonna is also rumored to be appearing at the mother of all gay bars – The Convent in WeHo – on Saturday night for a private concert.
Madonna’s summer is almost upon us.
