“TMC realizes it is out of power”

After the attack on Sarkar, BJP candidate from Siliguri Assembly constituency, Sankar Ghosh, told the media that the TMC is aware that it has been voted out of power and that is why its workers are reacting this way. “Since morning, what we have seen is that time is gradually running out and Trinamul is also aware that it is going out of power. So they are trying to cause some kind of disturbance here and there,” he said.

In another such incident of violence, Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AUJP) founder Humayun Kabir on Thursday said he was “surprise attacked” by TMC supporters in Murshidabad when he visited Noda district over the raw bomb incident.

Before the first stage of voting, improvised bombs were dropped late Wednesday night in the Noda district.

“The public will give a response to TMC. Their ‘goondagiri’ will end on May 4, 2026. I was suddenly attacked. Just as my people gathered to take action, the police accused them. Additional SP Majeed Khan must be stopped. He is the real criminal and TMC Dalal.” [broker]ANI quoted Kabir as saying.

Reacting to the alleged attack on Kabir, Ghosh said: “I think the Election Commission is playing its role. There are many incidents, like the attack on Subhendu Sarkar. Humayun Kabir’s convoy was also attacked… People are in a mood to make sure that the TMC does not come back to power. They are voting for the new government, and we are sure that the BJP will form the government.”
