Bengaluru Police have arrested a canteen worker on charges of selling more than 180 IPL tickets at an inflated price on the black market.

The accused, identified as Chandrashekar, worked in the canteen of Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, and was arrested after selling 181 tickets at inflated prices.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Chinnaswamy Stadium employee was also involved in the racket, according to the Times Of India. The police also launched a manhunt for other accused.

Tickets were sold at inflated prices ranging from $15000 LBP $19,000 per ticket during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Lucknow Super Giants match, held on April 15.
The investigation began when officials received information about the purchase of large quantities of tickets that were sold at high prices. Investigations revealed that about 50 tickets each were purchased under the names of Swastik Heavy Engineering and Industrial Automation Consulting Company and Darani Computer Company, according to the report.
The accused bought 181 tickets for $17.5 thousand and sold on the black market, a police statement said. Tickets were purchased through Ticketgenie, an online booking platform.

The incident comes days after eleven people were arrested on charges of black marketing tickets during an Indian Premier League match in Bengaluru on April 5.
A total of 28 tickets worth $4.53 lakh 8 mobile phones and WhatsApp screenshot printouts used in illegal online ticket sales were seized, according to PTI.
“Officers and staff of the Special Investigation Squad of the CCB conducted an operation on April 5 during the IPL T20 cricket match held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings. “During the operation, cases were registered against persons involved in black marketing of match tickets within the limits of Cubbon Park Police Station and Chamarajapet Police Station,” the police said in a statement.
