‘Baywatch’ reboot will remain in Venice Beach after filming issues, Karen Bass says

The cast of the Fox series Baywatch The replay will remain at Venice Beach.

After reports indicated the series had problems filming on Venice Beach, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass confirmed on Friday that production would continue as planned.

“I’m happy about that Baywatch Filming will continue here in Venice Beach. When I heard that there were problems with… Baywatch While filming in Los Angeles, my office took immediate action with Councilmember Park to remove any city-related barriers, including making parking easier and more affordable for the production.

“This was a team effort, between my office, Councilman Park’s office, the county, the Coastal Commission, Fremantle and Fox, and I am grateful for this continued partnership,” Bass added.

Filming for the series will continue across popular Los Angeles beaches, including Venice Beach outside Lifeguard headquarters, Marina del Rey, and Redondo Beach, as well as in Century City’s Fox District.

The production received $21 million in tax credits to film in Los Angeles. “The City of Los Angeles will always remove bureaucratic barriers, making it easier and less expensive to film in the Entertainment Capital of the World,” Bass wrote in her tweet.

New Baywatch It is a reimagining of the classic Rescuers drama that debuted in 1989 and stars David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. The reboot is scheduled for the 2026-27 season and stars Stephen Amell in the title role, with appearances by Shay Mitchell, Noah Peck, Livvie Dunne, Brooks Nader, Thaddeus Laughron and more. Matt Nix serves as showrunner and executive producer. Executive producers also include McG, Michael Burke, Greg Bonan, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto, and Mike Horowitz, with McG directing the first episode.
