In an intimate interview on his sister Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, Saif Ali Khan gave his fans a peek into his life as a father, and revealed a constant question from his son Taimur Ali Khan. The eight-year-old, often referred to as “Tim” by his family, recently quizzed his father about his long-term career plans, asking: “How long do you plan to do this?”

Saif Ali Khan talks about balancing work and family
When Soha mentioned that it made sense since Saif often stays away from photo shoots, the actor agreed and explained, “It has evolved in a way… but it is possible, and it helps if one succeeds.”
I can name a few people, colleagues and friends of mine in this industry who have managed to balance it well. They start work at 7 am. The camera is on at 9am and they get a lot of work done in one day as well as seeing their kids in the evening before bed.
It is a balance where one has a month or two of intense work and then leaves for a while to maintain rest.

Saif also explained that he always looked at this idea of balance through the metaphor of climbing a mountain.
He said that to climb a mountain, one must have a strong base camp, but if someone continued climbing endlessly, that base camp would cease to exist. Therefore, maintaining the base camp is important to maintain one’s ability to continue climbing.
