Volkswagen’s new luxury SUV, the Tyrone, has officially entered the Indian market with a sticker price of Rs. 46.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Offered exclusively in fully equipped R-Line trim and assembled locally, the model now sits at the top of the brand’s local range as the most luxurious SUV.

The flagship is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit from the EA888 evo4 engine family, generating 204 PS with 320 Nm of maximum twisting force. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox while the company’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive setup is included as standard.

The performance figures indicate its sporting credentials as this SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 224 km/h. Buyers interested in securing one can already make bookings with a booking amount of Rs. 51,000 through authorized outlets or the manufacturer’s official digital platform.

From a design perspective, the exterior has a sporty feel with distinctive R-Line accents integrated into the bumpers and side panels along with IQ Light HD Matrix LED headlights.
