The family vacation has gone wrong
If you like isolated murder mysteries with family drama, you’ll be thrilled to hear that Mary Kubica’s latest suspense novel, It’s Not Her, has gotten the adaptation treatment. Deadline reports that it has been “picked up by French studio and Narcos producer Lupine Gaumont for development as a TV series.” Kubica also has an extensive backlist worth diving into, my favorite so far being Local Woman Missing.
The Good Morning America Book Club picks a twisty crime novel
“The Exes” by Leodora Darlington’s debut book was selected by Good Morning America’s Book Club as their February pick. “If you’re looking for an anti-Valentine’s Day read that will keep you up at night, or if you want an emotional story to remind you that anyone can still change, it’s never too late, then Exes is the perfect read for you,” [Leodora Darlington] “He says.” You can check out Darlington’s chat with the people here and catch all the discussions in GMA’s book club here.

Resurrection The president is missing With Halle Berry
In 2020, Variety reported that the adaptation of James Patterson’s thriller The President Is Missing, which he wrote with Bill Clinton, would no longer run on Showtime. Jump forward to 2026, and the project will begin a new life with Halle Berry taking on the role of president of Apple Original Films.
