Former US President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have agreed to testify before a congressional panel investigating ties to late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, amid mounting political and legal pressure, according to reports.

Late last month, the committee approved a measure to hold both Clintons in criminal contempt, a move supported by several Democrats, the report indicated.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said the move was intended to reinforce that “no one is above the law,” noting that lawmakers had repeatedly sought cooperation from Clinton’s attorneys over an extended period.
Confirmation of evidenceConfirmation of Clinton’s appearance came Monday, when Clinton spokeswoman Angel Urena said on social media that both would testify before the committee. Urena said the couple negotiated in “good faith” and accused the panel of acting politically rather than seeking the truth.
He added that the Clintons had already testified under oath about what they knew and said they welcomed the opportunity to establish uniformly applicable standards.
What the newly published files showThe investigation comes after the US Department of Justice released Epstein-related materials under a law passed by Congress. After leaving office, the former president spent time socially with Epstein and traveled on his private jet multiple times in the early 2000s. Photos released by the Justice Department show Clinton swimming with the women, whose identities have been withheld.
Additional images released show Clinton reportedly cutting a slice of cake for a woman on what appears to be a private jet with other guests nearby.

While Clinton’s presence in the files has attracted attention, she has consistently denied any wrongdoing. Notably, he was never accused by Epstein’s victims and said he had no knowledge of Epstein’s sex crimes at the time.
There are currently no reports from major international news outlets or official government sources indicating Hillary Clinton’s name or involvement in the recently released 2026 Epstein files.
Clinton’s response to the allegationsWhen the photos were made public, Clinton’s spokeswoman said they were decades old and that Clinton had ended her relationship with Epstein before the financier’s criminal behavior became widely known.
He said the former president traveled on Epstein’s plane for work related to the Clinton Foundation in the early 2000s, before Epstein faced any criminal charges related to sexual assault.
Clinton’s lawyers also maintained that the subpoenas were unnecessary and argued that the couple had already provided all relevant information in their possession, according to the report.

It’s unclear whether the House will move forward with a planned contempt vote now that Clinton has agreed to testify. The Oversight Committee said it would continue to receive testimony as needed as part of the investigation, the report indicated.
