Two YouTubers have been arrested after trying to enter a FIFA World Cup match without valid credentials. Beni Marmol and Pato Perrotta were held out of the Portugal match.

Colombia match in Miami after authorities said they used expired media cards to enter the stadium. According to police, the couple succeeded in crossing multiple security checkpoints before they were stopped. YouTube users reportedly told officers they wanted to stream the match and cover the event. They now face criminal charges, although their manager says they have already been released on bail.

The incident occurred before Portugal’s match against Colombia in the FIFA World Cup in Miami.

According to local reports, Marmol and Perrotta allegedly tried to enter the stadium using media credentials that had expired after a previous match.

The police said that the two creators were able to pass through three layers of security before officers stopped them. During interrogation, Marmol reportedly admitted that they were trying to get into the stadium so they could broadcast the match live.Meanwhile, Perrotta reportedly told officers that he had been hired by a media company to review the event and had expired media credentials at the time.

Authorities accused the YouTuber of interfering in a sporting or entertainment event. If prosecutors determine they acted together to commit the crime, they could face a third-degree felony charge, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. They could also each receive a fine of up to $5,000 if convicted.

Following the arrests, the duo’s manager, Walter Costabile, shared an update with Todo Noticias. He said that both were creative “fine” He confirmed that the bail had already been paid.Costabile also stated that YouTube users do not face deportation. However, he said they are no longer allowed near stadiums hosting FIFA World Cup matches while legal proceedings continue. According to him, the case revolves around alleged interference in a sporting event.The incident has attracted attention online due to the popularity of both creators. Beni Marmol has over 273,000 subscribers on YouTube, while Pato Perrotta has over 525,000 subscribers.The case will now move through the legal system as authorities continue their investigation. Currently, the YouTuber remains out on bail but could still face serious legal consequences depending on how the case develops.
