'You think no one notices': NRIs react to Indian YouTuber's viral post on how to get free breakfast; “Hence the hate from MAGAs.”

An Indian YouTuber who shared tips on social media on how to get free breakfast from a certain group of hotels left NRIs embarrassed when the post went viral. Many NRIs have commented that this is why MAGA hatred against Indians has reached such a stage now that Indians are shamelessly rigging the system for something as small as free breakfast.

However, the post that went viral by Siddharth Bhimani did not contain any hoax. The YouTuber simply said that one can apply for free breakfast on the hotel group’s app the day before. The man explained that he got free breakfast everywhere in India through his gold status which does not guarantee free breakfast, but he took the opportunity to use his messaging trick and it even worked in Bali, Abu Dhabi, etc.

“Stop…just stop. Buy or go out to get breakfast on the street corner with your own money.

You Indians are what I call “Indian picares”. You are gaming the system and bragging about it. You think no one notices, they all do. “We are all suffering,” said Rakesh Nayak, an Indian-American and FDI investor. “I’m going to write a book on how they did this in the US, hence the hate now from MAGAs. They came off the runways with this and are now trying to play the victim card,” Nayak wrote. NRI professor Gaurav Sabnis narrated his experience of receiving “grants” when he moved to the US.

“When I moved to the US, I was horrified by the number of ‘tips’ I received through scams, which were just a way to game the system. From taking advantage of generous return policies. To smuggling ghee/mangoes. To raiding goodwill when you sit at a $150,000 job. To taking grocery carts home. Etc., which is disgusting,” Sabnis wrote.

“It’s never about entitlement.”

Bhimani responded to criticism from the NRI community and said that his ‘free breakfast’ post was never about freeloading or entitlement. “It was simply a matter of using the ‘messaging feature’ that activates the day before check-in in the Marriott app to politely ask for the feature — something many travelers already do. It was meant to help those who may not know it or feel embarrassed to ask at the front desk.”
