A man accused of killing four people in Sarasota. Florida, identified as Russell Cote. According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, the 51-year-old is also involved in a double homicide in Fort Lauderdale, Fox 13 reported.

The motive for the shooting is yet to be determined. However, investigators said the suspect was in a previous romantic relationship with a victim in Fort Lauderdale. That victim was linked to victims in Sarasota County.

the bulletsAccording to investigators, a neighbor called 911 shortly before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, to report a man had been shot at a home in the Amberley neighborhood near Proctor and McIntosh roads.
“I don’t know. I heard a loud boom before, and I thought somebody dropped something, and then I went outside and my neighbor, Tony, was laying on the ground, his house open and blood on his stomach,” the unidentified neighbor said in a 911 call, per Fox 13.
Deputies arrived to find a neighbor performing CPR on a man in the front yard. The deceased was identified as Loffe, the owner of the house.

Deputies took Loffey to another location and he was pronounced dead a short time later. Sarasota County Fire Department crews later took over.
Neighbors told deputies Lough’s wife may have been inside the home. They found the bodies of two men and two women inside.
Detectives said the Fort Lauderdale Police Department told them there had been a double homicide that they thought might be connected to the Sarasota murder. Police noted that Sarasota was caught on camera traveling north through Cote Punta Gorda before the killings.
Detectives, working with Amberlea HOA representatives and neighbors, received a video of the suspect’s vehicle entering the neighborhood at 11:01 p.m. The gunshots were caught on a neighbor’s ring camera moments later.
The man found on the front lawn was seen less than 40 minutes later driving into the neighborhood in his car, SCSO said. Loffe went up to the door and was shot, the deputy claimed.
“There’s blood everywhere. I don’t see any weapons,” the neighbor said in the 911 call.
No one was seen entering or leaving the house after that.
Cote was among four people found dead inside a home in Sarasota. According to deputies, his vehicle was found inside the neighborhood.
“It really makes you think. I just feel bad for the family. I feel really bad,” said Vanessa Epperson, who lives nearby.
