Newly released documents from the Justice Department’s investigative files on Jeffrey Epstein include an alleged email exchange between his former aide and girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, and US first lady Melania Trump.

Melania Trump reached out to Ghislaine Maxwell in 2002, praising a New York magazine article about Jeffrey Epstein. (Bloomberg)In a message dated 2002, Melania expressed her admiration for a New York magazine article about Epstein and praised the socialite who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking. Melania also allegedly requested that Maxwell contact her upon his return to New York, according to the file.

“Dear G! How are you?” After reading Melanie’s purported message, Ghislaine addresses Ghislaine as G. “Nice story about Jay in NY Mag. You look great in the pic.”

At the time, First Lady Melania Knauss was in the early stages of her relationship with Trump.

The couple was photographed alongside Epstein and Maxwell during that period, but the email appears to be the earliest written correspondence between Melania and Maxwell found in the record. Notably, President Trump and Melania Epstein have not faced any allegations of misconduct related to the investigation.

Maxwell reportedly replied, “Sweet Pea – thanks for your message. Actually plans have changed again and I’m heading back to NY now. I’m leaving for Venus again so I don’t think I’ll have time to visit yet sadly. I’ll try and call though.”
