Mark Orchard gets online attentionAfter the FBI released a black-and-white photo of the suspect, unsubstantiated claims began circulating online, suggesting the man could be Tommaso Cioni, the husband of Guthrie’s daughter Annie. Others speculated that the man resembled Mark Orchard, citing perceived similarities in their eyes and facial hair.
One user commented, “This is without question Mark Orchard, Savannah’s ex-husband.”
“Look at the eyes and mustache/mouth,” said another.
Here’s what Nancy Guthrie’s family had to sayAuthorities have not confirmed any of these claims. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office, which is overseeing the investigation, issued a statement consistent with the FBI, indicating no briefing is scheduled. No suspects have been identified, and law enforcement has not identified the person depicted in the photo.
Additionally, NBC News reported that the Guthrie family had examined surveillance images released by the FBI but said they did not recognize the person shown.
Meanwhile, the FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the search for Nancy Guthrie.
