Who is Mark Orchard and where does he live?Mark Orchard is an experienced journalist and an accomplished television news producer whose career spans several prominent international networks. According to his LinkedIn profile, he currently lives in Washington DC.
He devoted ten years to Al Jazeera (2006–2016), where he held the position of Senior News Editor for Al Jazeera English and later served as an Executive Producer for Al Jazeera America. Prior to his professional journey, he was a White House producer for the BBC, reporting on President George W. Bush’s first term. Since 2016, Mark has been a Senior Broadcast Producer for the investigative program, Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson. In terms of his personal life, Mark Orchard has been married twice to notable people, first to Anne Kornblut and later to Today Show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie.
Orchard and Guthrie first crossed paths in 2005 while covering Michael Jackson’s sexual assault trial—Guthrie for Court TV and Orchard for the BBC. They tied the knot in December 2005 but divorced in 2009. Mark Orchard gets online attentionAfter the FBI released a black-and-white photo of the suspect, unsubstantiated claims began circulating online, suggesting the man could be Tommaso Cioni, the husband of Guthrie’s daughter Annie. Others speculated that the man resembled Mark Orchard, citing perceived similarities in their eyes and facial hair.
One user commented, “This is without question Mark Orchard, Savannah’s ex-husband.”
“Look at the eyes and mustache/mouth,” said another.
Here’s what Nancy Guthrie’s family had to sayAuthorities have not confirmed any of these claims. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office, which is overseeing the investigation, issued a statement consistent with the FBI, indicating no briefing is scheduled. No suspects have been identified, and law enforcement has not identified the person depicted in the photo.
Additionally, NBC News reported that the Guthrie family had examined surveillance images released by the FBI but said they did not recognize the person shown.
Meanwhile, the FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the search for Nancy Guthrie.
