Jill Zarin, one of the stars of the reality TV show Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY), was fired by E! From his role on RHONY’s upcoming spinoff, ‘The Golden Gate,’ to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl 60 halftime performance, he made racist social media comments.

Zarin criticized Bad Bunny’s performance, calling it “the worst halftime show ever” and complaining that it featured no “white people”. He was accused of racism.

“In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, the Blink49 studio has decided not to move forward with her involvement in The Golden Life,” the studio’s statement read. “We are committed to delivering the series in line with our company’s standards and values.”

Blink49 Studio’s decision sparked renewed interest in what Jill Zarin said about Bad Bunny.

He objected to the fact that the performance was entirely in Spanish. He complained that the show’s lack of white people made a “political statement”.

“I don’t think it was appropriate to do it in Spanish,” Zarin said. “Quite frankly, I think he’s occupying his, you know, G-area, I think it was totally inappropriate. All these little kids watching the Super Bowl, and he doesn’t have to pinch himself every five seconds. Is he that insecure? Seriously.”

He then said that the performance was incomprehensible to him because it was entirely in Spanish. “I didn’t understand – I don’t speak Spanish, I wanted to know what he was saying,” she said.

“To me, it seemed like a political statement, because there were literally no white people in the whole thing. I think it was a political statement and I’m not taking one side or the other. I do. I think it was an ICE thing.”

Notably, Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance, sponsored by Apple Music, was watched by more than 163 million people worldwide, the NFL said.
