A claim has gone viral that Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant has been suspended by the NBA for allegedly using a Burner account to trash-talk some of his teammates. However, the claim is false, and the NBA did not suspend KD.

(AP)The rumor spread after social media discovered a Burner account that discussed Houston Rockets players and claimed it was based on sources allegedly belonging to Durant. The allegations have not been officially confirmed.

But Durant’s 2019 claim that he uses a Burner account to communicate with friends anonymously has led many to believe the account is his. Since the controversy, the account has been set to private. Social media noticed that it contained a picture of an owl, a GIF that KD had tweeted from his own handle in the past

Neither Durant nor the NBA has responded to the rumors and there is currently no investigation into the ongoing controversy. Nevertheless, rumors that KD has been suspended spread like wildfire on social media.
