Vivek Ramaswamy speaks on 'being American' at TPUSA event, Nikki Haley's son calls him 'pathetic'

Nalin Haley calls Vivek Ramaswamy pathetic after Ramaswamy’s speech at TPUSA about what it means to be an American.

Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy quoted former President Ronald Reagan when he talked about being American at a Turning Point USA event — but as usual, it wasn’t without backlash. Although Ramaswamy once said what Reagan said, MAGA critics on social media said he was wrong, and Nikki Haley’s son, Nalin Haley, who left no opportunity to troll Ramaswamy, called him pathetic.“You can travel to Italy, but you will never be Italian. You can travel to France, but you will never become French. You can live in Germany, but you will never become German. You can pack your bags and live the rest of your life in China or Japan, but you will never become Chinese or Japanese. However, you can come from any of these countries to the United States of America, and you can still be an American — as long as you work hard, play by the rules, make your contributions, and wait for it,” Ramaswamy said at the event, citing Reagan. “Convert, pledge allegiance to the flag, and claim your citizenship.”Social media users said this is not true because all the countries he mentioned grant citizenship to people once they meet the requirements.Nalin Haley, Nikki Haley’s son, narrated a “fun fact” from Ramaswamy’s presidential campaign.

“In the presidential campaign when all the candidates were speaking at the same events, this guy would send his staff into the crowd and ask them to applaud him because no one was doing that. He would even make sure they were spread out among the crowd to make it look like the applause was real and coming from the entire crowd.

The more people hear it, the less they like it. “Pathetic,” Hailey posted.Commentator Benny Johnson said Ramaswamy is “completely wrong” to be American and argued why Chinese, French, Japanese and German culture are distinct and sacred and American culture is fungible. “These comments reveal a worldview that America is merely an economic tax zone that will be stripped of all resources by globalists and foreign fraudsters,” Johnson said.
