The UAE Aviation Authority has announced a complete ban on the operation of drones and light sport aircraft across the country, warning that anyone violating this rule could face legal action.The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said that the decision comes due to what it described as “the current exceptional circumstances.” This announcement was shared through the authority’s official accounts on social media.According to the General Civil Aviation Authority, the ban applies to several types of aviation activities. This includes unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), recreational and light sport aircraft, as well as gliders and paragliding. All permits related to these activities have been suspended at this time.

Officials stressed that the restriction applies to everyone without exception, including hobbyists and operators who usually fly these aircraft for recreational purposes.The authority urged the public to strictly follow the rules and avoid flying drones or other recreational aircraft during this period.The General Civil Aviation Authority also warned that violating the ban could lead to legal action under the laws of the UAE.The authorities said that this step aims to protect public safety and maintain the security of the country’s airspace during the ongoing exceptional situation.
