Iran has rejected a US proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict, insisting that any ceasefire will only happen according to its terms and timetable, a senior political and security official told Press TV on Wednesday.“Iran says it will end the war when it decides to do so and when its conditions are met,” the official said, adding that Tehran will continue its military response and deliver “strong strikes” until its demands are met.
The official in Tehran said that Washington was continuing talks through multiple diplomatic channels, but described its proposals as “exaggerated” and disconnected from battlefield realities. The latest US offer, made through a regional mediator, was dismissed as an attempt to escalate tensions rather than resolve them.

The following are the demands put forward by the Iranian official:
- Stop attacks and assassinations: Tehran demanded a complete halt to what it described as “aggression and assassinations” by its opponents.
- Guarantees against future war: She called on Iran to establish concrete mechanisms to ensure that conflict is not re-imposed on the country.
- War damage compensation: Tehran seeks to pay guaranteed and clearly defined compensation for war damage and reparations.
- The end of the conflict on the fronts: Iran insists that any agreement must include an end to hostilities on all fronts and between allied groups in the region.
- Sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz: The official said that Iran wants international recognition and guarantees for its sovereign right to the Strait of Hormuz.
The official added that “no negotiations will take place before that,” stressing that military operations will continue until these conditions are met. The official added, “The end of the war will happen when Iran decides it must end, not when Trump envisions its end.”These statements come at a time when fighting continues between Iran and Israel, in addition to American participation, with strikes targeting Iranian infrastructure and Tehran continuing to launch missiles in response.
The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has also disrupted global energy supplies, adding more urgency to diplomatic efforts. On the other hand, reports indicate that the United States’ 15-point proposal includes restrictions on Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, as well as restrictions on regional activities, in exchange for sanctions relief and support for civilian nuclear development.Read more: What is the content of Trump’s 15-point plan to end the war with Iran?Iranian military officials responded sharply to Washington’s position. Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Zulfiqari said that President Donald Trump appears to be “negotiating with himself.” He added: “The country that claims to be a global superpower would have actually gotten out of this mess if it could. Do not dress your defeat as if it were an agreement. The era of empty promises is over.”While both sides maintain firm positions, the prospects for reaching a solution in the near term remain uncertain.
