“We will hit them harder”: Trump warns Iran of tougher military action after 3 US ships came under fire in Hormuz

US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that three US Navy destroyers came under fire while crossing the Strait of Hormuz, but did not suffer any damage during the incident.

He also warned Iran of taking stronger military action if it does not agree to sign the agreement quickly. In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Three world-class American destroyers have just crossed, very successfully, out of the Strait of Hormuz, under fire. There was no damage to the three destroyers, but significant damage to the Iranian attackers. They were completely destroyed along with several small boats, which are being used to replace their completely beheaded navy.”The incident comes amid rising tensions in and around the Strait of Hormuz, a major global shipping route where both the United States and Iran have recently reported attacks and counterattacks.

In his post, Trump described the attack, saying missiles fired at American ships were intercepted and drones destroyed in the air, describing it as “like a butterfly falling into its grave.”“Missiles were fired at our destroyers and were easily shot down.

Likewise, drones came and were burned in the air. They fell so beautifully into the ocean, just like a butterfly falling to its grave!”In a strong warning to Iran, Trump said the country would face more intense military action if it did not agree to a deal quickly.“We will expel them more forcefully and more violently in the future if they do not sign their agreement quickly,” he wrote. He also said that Iran is not a “normal country,” describing it as a nation led by “crazy people.”“A normal country would have allowed these destroyers to pass, but Iran is not a normal country. It is led by lunatics,” Trump wrote. He also repeated his long-standing claims that Tehran should never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.Trump also said the three destroyers would now return to what he described as a US naval blockade in the region.“Our three destroyers, with their splendid crews, will now rejoin our naval blockade, which is truly a ‘wall of steel,’” he wrote. These statements came hours after reports of military exchanges in and around the Strait of Hormuz. According to US Central Command, US forces targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for “unprovoked” missile, drone and small boat attacks against US warships transiting the strait.

The US military said that no American assets were injured during the incident. However, Iranian state media accused the United States of violating the ceasefire by launching attacks on Iranian territory and civilian coastal areas near Qeshm Island, Bandar Khamir and Sirik, warning of an “overwhelming response” to any further aggression.
