The White House criticized Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding celebrations by mimicking the couple’s wedding announcement on social media. In a post shared on its official X account on Friday, the White House recreated the digital billboard that appeared outside Madison Square Garden in New York City after the couple’s wedding.
While the original text read “JusT&T Married”, the edited version replaced it with the message “Trump is your president.”
The post was titled “It Happened!!!”
The social media buzz came shortly after the couple celebrated their wedding, as their ad was displayed on digital billboards outside the venue.President Donald Trump also participated in the online conversation the day before by sharing an Eras Tour-inspired graphic showing himself at the center. The poster showed Trump raising his fist, surrounded by images of historical figures including George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, along with iconic moments such as the Apollo 11 landing on the moon. The accompanying caption read “It’s been a long time…”; A reference to Swift’s song Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince. The posts add to Trump’s long-standing public criticism of the pop star following her endorsement of then-Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election.
After endorsing Taylor Harris, Trump wrote on Truth Social in September 2024, “I hate Taylor Swift!”Months later, in May 2025, he returned to the platform to mock the singer, writing: “Has anyone noticed that since I said ‘I hate Taylor Swift’ she’s no longer hot?”Despite those statements, Trump took a more conciliatory tone after Swift and Kelsey announced their engagement in August 2025.“Well, I wish them a lot of luck,” Trump said when asked about the engagement. “No, I think he’s a great player. I think he’s a great man. I think she’s a great person, so I wish them a lot of luck.”
