President Donald Trump said on Saturday (February 21, 2026) he plans to raise the global tariff to 15%, up from 10% announced a day earlier.

Mr. Trump said in a social media post.

Trump signed an executive order Friday night (Feb. 21, 2026) that allowed him to bypass Congress and impose a 10% tax on imports worldwide, after a court ruled he lacked the emergency authority to impose several hefty tariffs. The catch is that those duties are limited to just 150 days, unless legally extended.
