'Rest easy, chiefs': Two Pennsylvania firefighters killed in line-of-duty crash

Two firefighters were killed in a head-on crash in Pennsylvania on Monday while searching for a missing woman, officials said.Fire Chief Jeff Buck and Assistant Fire Chief Robert Schick Jr. of the Walnuttown Fire Company were traveling north in a utility vehicle along Route 222 on Saturday around 6 p.m. when they were struck by a southbound Toyota Camry, the Berks County coroner said.Local media reported that the car was on the shoulder when the Camry deviated from the road and collided with it. Police said a man and a woman who were inside the car fled the scene but were later arrested.The accident occurred about 45 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Both victims were Fleetwood residents, and autopsies are scheduled for Monday.“Our thoughts and prayers” go out to the families, Walnuttown Fire Company said in a Facebook post. “Take it easy, chiefs, we got it from here.”The authorities did not release further details about the arrests or the search for the missing woman.
