US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he was “unhappy” with the ongoing negotiations with Iran, stressing that Tehran must say that it will not develop nuclear weapons.During his speech at a rally in Texas, Trump claimed that his administration must “make a big decision,” adding that any agreement with Tehran must be “meaningful.”
“War with Iran…”: Trump drops bomb on nuclear talks; “I am not happy with Khamenei…”
“We now have a big decision to make. You know that. It’s not easy. We have a very big decision to make. We have a country that, for 47 years, has been blowing people’s legs off, cutting off their arms, cutting off their faces. They’ve been destroying ships, killing people – a lot of people. Well, not just Americans, a lot of people. It’s been terrible. 32,000 people have been killed over the last two or three months – the protesters,” Trump said.“32,000. That’s a number of people. They want to make a deal, but you have to make a meaningful deal.”
I talked to Ted Cruz and John, all of them on the way here. You said you have to make a meaningful deal. We hit them hard, you know, with those beautiful B-2 bombers that recently destroyed their nuclear capabilities. But I prefer to do it peacefully. But they are very difficult people. I want to tell you that.
“They are very dangerous, very difficult people,” he added. This comes after the third round of negotiations between Iran and the United States was held in Geneva on Thursday.
The latest round of talks comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between Tehran and Washington and against the backdrop of a large US military buildup in the Middle East, as several countries advised their citizens to leave Iran amid concerns about possible US strikes.Earlier today, Trump said he was “not completely happy” with Iran’s handling of negotiations over its nuclear program, stressing that the country cannot possess nuclear weapons.Trump said, “We have not made a final decision (on Iran). We are not completely satisfied with the way they are negotiating. They cannot have nuclear weapons. And we are not happy with the way they are negotiating. So we will see how it all goes.”He added, “I am not happy with the fact that they are not ready to give us what we should have. I am not happy with that. We will see what happens. We will have some additional talks today. But, no, I am not happy with the way they are going.”
