The goal is clear: the goal is to make Bran Castle a top international tourist attraction, attracting greater numbers of visitors across the United States and Western Europe towards central Transylvania.
A legacy that goes beyond the vampire mythAlthough the public knows Bran Castle through the lens of Bram Stoker’s epic novel, the real story of the castle is its extensive network of royal residences and military defence. Stoker himself never set foot in Romania and relied instead on vivid descriptions and photographs from British libraries. The sharp silhouette of the castle was perfectly in keeping with the eerie atmosphere in his book.
This fusion of fantasy and real life has made this castle a thriving center for dark tourism.The appeal of these sites could be more than just the result of a temporary trend. Humans’ fascination with the apocalyptic usually stems from the need to connect with history in a tangible and enjoyable way. Bran Castle has mastered this balance and offers visitors a peek into the brutal reign of Vlad the Impaler, as well as the magnificent chambers used by Queen Mary of Romania.The new administration will oversee the castle.
