UAE police have reportedly “kidnapped” the ex-wife of the Emir of Dubai and three children in a surprise nighttime raid, raising alarm over the mysterious disappearance of 34-year-old Zainab Jawadli and her children.
Javadli was married to 49-year-old Sheikh Saeed, the nephew of the ruler of Dubai. Javadel and her ex-husband were in the midst of a bitter custody battle. Javadli is a former Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnast. She was facing possible arrest for online crimes as she live-streamed it when Dubai Police last came to her house. She said at the time: “I knew it was my last chance to be with my kids because they wouldn’t let me see them again. I honestly thought it was my last chance, so I just went live and asked for help.”
