The Bangladesh led by the Nationalist Party President Tariq Rehman, is All set to return to power in Dhaka after two decades. After a landslide victory in the February 12 parliamentary elections, it won an absolute majority of seats, according to the Election Commission of Bangladesh.

‘No Victory Parade’

Bangladesh Nationalist Party top winners and party standing committee members Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chaudhary, Mirza Abbas, Salahuddin Ahmed and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy met President Rahman in Dhaka’s Gulshan neighborhood and spent the day in internal consultations.

Mr. Rahman issued an internal order that the party should avoid taking out a victory procession and joined his colleagues for Friday prayers at the Gulshan Navi Jam Mosque. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir spoke to the media and said that the party will take all sides in the governance of Bangladesh in the coming years.
