The Indian-American financier, who recently drew attention for a disputed sexual harassment suit against a top JPMorgan Chase executive, has quietly left his new job, according to company sources cited by the New York Post.Shirayu Rana, a 35-year-old director at investment firm Bregal Sagemount, left the firm on April 2, just weeks before a lawsuit was filed in New York accusing JPMorgan CEO Lorna Heidini of sexual misconduct. His departure was not publicly announced, and his profile remained listed on the company’s website even after his departure.Shiraya Rana was employed by Bregal Sagemount from October 20, 2025 to April 2, 2026.
The company confirmed that he is no longer an employee. She added: “We cannot share more information (about the circumstances of his passing).”Rana’s exit attracted attention because of its timing. He left the investment firm shortly before Hajdini, a 37-year-old financial manager, accused him of drugging him with Viagra and keeping him a “sex slave” in a widely publicized lawsuit. These allegations were later disputed and were described by Heydini’s allies and lawyers as baseless and “fabricated”.
“Lorna categorically denies these accusations,” her lawyers said in a statement.“She never engaged in any inappropriate behavior with this person of any kind, and she never went to the location where the alleged sexual assault allegedly occurred,” they added. JPMorgan also conducted an internal review of the allegations and said it found no evidence to support them. The lawsuit was initially filed in New York State Court and was later amended for corrections.
She alleged drugging, coercion and retaliation in the workplace. However, parts of the case have been disputed, including allegations that Haidini solicited sexual favors by blackmailing Shirayu into not giving him a reward. Rana and Hajdini worked under different managers, meaning she had no control over his salary.Rana’s professional background includes roles at major Wall Street firms such as Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, Houlihan Lokey, and The Carlyle Group. He later joined the leveraged finance team at JPMorgan in 2024 after graduating from Rutgers University.
