The sharp rise in Umrah arrivals has prompted Saudi authorities to increase coordination, with the establishment of a new operations room to respond in real time and improve the overall pilgrim experience. The Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, announced the launch of a special operations room designed to address the challenges faced by pilgrims arriving from abroad and simplify services during their stay. This initiative was developed in cooperation with the General Civil Aviation Authority and other relevant parties, indicating a coordinated approach across sectors to ensure comfort and safety for pilgrims performing their rituals. In his speech during the opening session of the Umrah and Visitation Forum in Medina, Al-Rabiah said that the Ministry and its associated bodies are fully prepared to adapt to regional changes and increasing demand. He revealed the arrival of 18 million pilgrims from outside the Kingdom this year, which reflects a growth of more than 214 percent compared to the years 2022 and 2025. He also praised the Kingdom’s leadership for its continued support in expanding and strengthening the Umrah sector.

The minister noted a tangible improvement in the quality of service, noting that pilgrims’ satisfaction levels had risen to 94 percent by 2025. He also highlighted a significant increase in visits to Al Rawdah Al Sharifa, with more than 15.6 million visitors recorded. Besides, notable progress has been made in developing historical sites, contributing to a broader and more enriching pilgrimage experience. The third edition of the same forum reflects the extent of growth in this sector. It has brought together more than 150 exhibitors and includes 50 workshops focused on enhancing services and innovation. More than 5,000 agreements are scheduled to be signed aimed at strengthening partnerships and improving the quality and efficiency of Umrah and visitation services in all fields.
