At least five people were killed and 19 others wounded after a Russian drone strike hit a market in the frontline Ukrainian city of Nikopol on Saturday morning, the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office said.Earlier, regional governor Oleksandr Ganga said in a post on the Telegram app that three women and two men were killed. He added that a 14-year-old girl was among 19 wounded and was in critical condition.“This is another war crime committed by the Russian Federation,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a post on the Telegram app.The city of Nikopol, which is located near Russian-occupied territory across the Dnipro River, is under frequent attacks.Russia has launched regular strikes on Ukraine since its invasion in 2022, mostly at night, but in recent weeks it has increased its attacks during the day.Meanwhile, overnight Russian airstrikes on Ukraine injured 14 people, while air attacks in Russia killed one person and injured four others.
