'Run again!' Kamala Harris confirms she's thinking about running for president again in 2028

Kamala Harris said she is considering running again for president in 2028.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris confirmed on Friday that she is considering running for president again in 2028. The Rev. Al Sharpton asked the former vice president at the National Action Network conference in New York City if she would run for president in 2028.

“Listen, I might do that,” Harris said. “I’m thinking about it.” Harris has kept her future plans in politics vague until now as she immerses herself in writing a book, but this is seen as her strongest confirmation of her political future. Chants of “Run away again” rang out in the Manhattan hall where Harris sat for her conversation with Sharpton, the founder of the civil rights group. He added, “Let me also say this, I served for four years and was a heartbeat away from the presidency of the United States…

“I know what the job is and I know what it takes,” Harris said.“Part of the issue is the need to get rid of some of the bureaucracy in government and understand that people…don’t want process, they want progress,” she added. “Look, the American people have the right to expect from anyone who wants to run for office and be a leader that it can’t be about themselves, and what they want for themselves has to be about the American people,” she added.

“And that’s the way I think about it and I think about it in context.

..Who, where and how can the best work be done for the American people? I’ll keep you posted.”Shortly after she lost the 2024 presidential election, speculation swirled that she would run for governor of California next. But after a year and a half, Kamala Harris made her first firm statement that she might run again for president. “So he is entering into this war, a war of choice,” Harris said of the war with Iran. “Remember, the guy said he got rid of their nuclear arsenal, obliterated it. And he said – you know how he likes to use that kind of word, obliterated, which is not an ambiguous term, meaning you took it out – well, obviously he didn’t do that.”
