Authorities have identified the person responsible for the shooting at the hockey arena in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, as 56-year-old Robert Dorgan, also known as Roberta Esposito.

(X/@VerdadEsPoder)According to officials, three people, including the suspect, lost their lives in what was described as a “targeted” shooting during a youth hockey game. Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves said three other victims are currently hospitalized in critical condition. He also said the suspect died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
During a news conference Monday night, Goncalves publicly named Dorgan, who was at an arena to attend a family member’s hockey game.
Officials said the shooting appeared to be intentional and stemmed from a family dispute. Goncalves noted Monday evening that one of the people involved was described as a “family friend,” though he did not specify whether that person was among those killed or injured.

During the legal proceedings, records showed that Dorgan lived in Jacksonville, Florida and was employed as a truck driver. The couple had at least three children together. Authorities have not released the names of the children, but reports indicate that one boy is a senior at North Providence High School and a hockey player who was present during the shooting incident.
A grown daughter later contacted media outlets, identifying her father as someone who had long-term mental health issues. Another adult child, identified in some reports as a daughter, was among those who were tragically shot.
