Russian President Putin has thanked Mohammed bin Zayed of the United Arab Emirates for helping arrest a suspect in the shooting death of intelligence officer Vladimir Alekseyev.

Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked his UAE counterpart Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during a phone call on Saturday evening for his help in detaining a man suspected of shooting a Russian military intelligence officer, Russian agencies said, citing Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
