Iran on Friday mocked US President Donald Trump by sharing a viral video of an albino Bangladeshi buffalo that resembled him, claiming the animal had lost its appetite after being compared to the US leader amid the ongoing US-Iran conflict.In a post on the X website, Iran’s official account in Russia wrote: “Poor guy! Bangladeshi buffalo upset by comparisons with Donald Trump.”
The post also shared a report by Russian state media RT, which said: “The Bangladeshi buffalo that looks like Trump lost his appetite after people flocked to see him.”The viral buffalo, named ‘Donald Trump’, has become a major attraction ahead of Eid al-Adha celebrations in Bangladesh’s Narayanganj district near Dhaka.The 700-kilogram white buffalo attracted attention online due to its golden hair color and facial appearance, which many social media users said resembled the US president.“When I saw his pictures on Facebook, he looked exactly like Donald Trump. His facial structure and even his hairstyle matched Trump’s,” one visitor told local newspaper Prothom Alo.Another visitor jokingly noted that the calm nature of the buffalo differs from that of the American president.
She added: “Buffalos are very calm and polite by nature, which certainly does not suit Donald Trump.”The animal’s owner, Dia El-Din Merida, said that crowds were visiting the farm daily to take pictures with the buffalo after it spread on the Internet.“My younger brother jokingly named him Donald Trump after he saw the hair on his head. He is very calm by nature. White buffalo are generally peaceful and do not become aggressive unless provoked,” he said.The United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran on February 28, targeting Iranian military and strategic infrastructure. The conflict sparked weeks of missile attacks, drone strikes and reprisals between the two sides before a fragile ceasefire came into effect in April.Since then, tensions have remained high, with Iran and the United States continuing to trade sharp political and diplomatic attacks online and through public statements.According to Axios, Trump met with senior officials, including Vice President J.D. Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and CIA Director John Ratcliffe, while the White House was weighing the possibility of launching new strikes on Iran if ongoing negotiations fail.The meeting was held as diplomatic efforts intensified, with Pakistani Army Commander Field Marshal Asim Munir traveling to Tehran in an apparent attempt to help bridge differences and avoid a resumption of war.
A Qatari delegation also arrived in Iran as part of mediation efforts.Later, Trump cut short his weekend plans and announced that he would return to Washington rather than attend his son Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding celebrations, citing “government-related circumstances” and the need to remain in the White House during a critical period.According to Axios, Trump has become increasingly frustrated with the stalled negotiations and is now said to be leaning toward a possible “decisive” military operation unless a breakthrough is achieved in the coming days.
