Dennis “PaymoneyWubby” Richardson and Fiona “Fanfan” Nova found themselves in an unexpected place: an Adam Sandler-related Netflix movie. Their voices were used in Roommateswas released on April 17, 2026. The clip came from one of his old Twitch streams and was later licensed for the film.

The creators were paid $2000 each for this short audio.This moment was never planned. It was part of an informal broadcast where they were playing Minecraft and talking freely. The clip later spread across the Internet, reaching a wider audience, and somehow catching the attention of Sandler’s team. What started as a casual conversation between two streamers slowly turned into a paid feature on a professional film.

Dennis noticed the clip while watching the film with his fans.

While the scene was playing, he reacted quickly after hearing his voice. “That’s me!” he said. “I agree, but I don’t mind,” he said. “That’s me! Two thousand for that.”He then shared what he was told about how the clip was chosen. At the same time, he explained that he was not completely sure of all the details. “According to his team, I don’t know what’s true, but according to his team, he saw the clip… because that clip of ours was so good, it got around, and according to Adam Sandler’s team, he saw the clip and thought it was very funny, and he wanted it specifically for the scene,” he said.

Dennis also spoke about his first reaction when he received an email about the clip being used. He didn’t believe it at first. “I don’t know if this is real. I don’t know what’s real. I don’t know any of it… But when they sent the email, I sent it to the management people, and I said, ‘I don’t even think this is real,’ and they were like, ‘Oh, it’s real, we’ll get you the money,'” he explained, “Big two, for both of us, Fanfan and me, both.”

The clip came from a Minecraft stream where both creators were casually talking. That natural moment ended up being used in the film after proper licensing.
