A relative of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is among four arrested for gang rape of two foreign women in Lahore

Pakistani police have arrested four men, including a relative of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, in connection with the alleged gang rape of two foreign women in Lahore.The suspects: Muhammad Raza Dar, Hassan Raza, Iskandar Khan, and Sajid Ali appeared before a Lahore court on Friday, which remanded them to five-day remand.

The fifth suspect is still at large, and police said efforts are underway to arrest him.According to the police, Mohammad Raza Dar, the main accused, is related to Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. A police officer said the case is being investigated from all angles due to its sensitivity.The two women, one from the Netherlands and the other from Venezuela, were allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped after arriving in Lahore on June 29.

The police rescued them after receiving a call from the father of one of the victims from Spain.A case has been registered under sections relating to kidnapping and gang rape of the Pakistan Penal Code.The women told investigators they met Raza Dar in Singapore in October 2025, where they were involved in a cryptocurrency business venture, police said. Raza Dar later invited them to Pakistan and arranged work visas to visit them.

According to the victims, they were kidnapped shortly after their arrival in Lahore and taken to a house where they were allegedly gang-raped. They also claimed that the defendants demanded a ransom in exchange for their release.A court official said the victims identified Mohammad Raza Dar as the main suspect when the four defendants appeared before the judge.Police said the investigation is continuing.(With inputs from PTI)
