A break may be coming in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case. Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing Sunday. Authorities believe she was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home on Saturday.

(AP)Since then, an alleged ransom letter has been sent as the family – Savannah, and siblings Annie and Cameron – make a video plea to contact anyone who may have their mother. Investigators also noted that time is of the essence because the 84-year-old is unlikely to fare well without his daily medication. People reported from a dispatch call that Guthrie had cardiac problems, high blood pressure and used a pacemaker.

At this time, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office has not announced a suspect or person of interest. In a statement, they noted that they were speaking with people who had contact with Nancy Guthrie prior to her abduction. This authority was spoken by Anne’s husband Tommaso Cioni. According to the New York Times, Sioni last saw Nancy when he dropped her off at her home — close to where he and Annie live.

In this race against time, a neighbor can make a break in the case.

What to Know About Nancy Guthrie’s NeighborsNancy Guthrie’s neighbor who wanted to speak with authorities lives in a home whose backyard abuts the abducted woman. According to Michael Ruiz of Fox News, he told reporters outside that he would come to try to pass on a tip to detectives.

Although he didn’t elaborate on the tip, the neighbor said he ‘saw something’ and wanted to report it.

It comes after a Guthrie neighbor called 911 to report a car ‘crawling’ in her driveway. Police also observed a trespasser in a yard near the area.

However, Guthrie’s disappearance shocked the community. A neighbor spoke to Fox News Digital, praising the safety of the area. They commented, “…on the whole, there’s no crime, or you know, the crime that does happen is a small crime, where someone leaves their car unlocked and kids walk by and take something. But nothing like that has happened since I’ve been here,” adding, “There are no street lights because the sky is one of the most perfect skies and dark skies like the people in the surrounding country. Not really afraid of the dark.”
